"I have found Emma's training sessions for instructors really inspirational; and always leave charged with renewed enthusiasm, full of lots of great, new ideas for immediate use class, and with an improved knowledge and understanding of anatomy linked to Pilates. Her approach is professional, very informative and fun!

"I have been coming to classes at Pilates studio north for several years now and have enjoyed these so much that I have frequently recommended the studio to friends. Emma's classes are extremely well constructed, innovative and interesting and are consequently very effective. Her teaching style is dynamic and motivating and the exercises are based on both traditional theories and current, evidence-based thinking in movement science. Every session is demanding and fun. Emma's classes offer a level of supervision, which is very high indeed. Client's are encouraged and supported to develop a personal awareness of their own level of motor control; she always identifies a number of options for each exercise to suit clients at different levels of control and clearly explains the factors which determine which level should be followed. Emma and her colleagues pay a great deal of attention toHealth and safety; exercises are clearly explained, accurately demonstrated and the supervision for each individual client is impressive. Emma encourages feedback; she listens to and acts upon clients'suggestions of areas for further business development: the studio is very much a part of the village and offers a service which has developed and continues to develop with the needs and wishes of the localpopulation. Frankly I cannot believe my luck that a studio of this calibre is in the village ..I would very happily travel a great deal further to access this level of supervision and guidance."

“Emma is a truly exceptional teacher, she is by far the best I’ve ever had. I find her inspirational both as a teacher and a person. As a student, I can only aspire to be as good as her some day”

Emma has been my Pilates instructor of 7 years. I cam to Emma because I had experienced several years of back pain, a slipped disc and dysfunctional joints. Her dedicated approach towards me has always focussed on my needs. Her advice has been excellent and I am able to enjoy a relatively pain free life as a result of her excellent teaching. Emma “walks the talk”. An advocate of “tough care”, she has been an inspiration to me, most recently helping me to return to fitness after undergoing surgery for breast cancer.

Although I am not one of those people with natural 'bodily kinaesthetic' intelligence and don't tend to engage in exercise with great relish, I am loving both the experience and the impact of the work I am doing with you. I find the classes, varied, challenging, engaging and the support given by yourself and Kay is professionally rigorous, personalised and extremely helpful in ensuring I progress and learn. My overall body confidence has improved tremendously. The non-competitive atmosphere you nurture in both classes means that I feel ok about sitting out in class when the going gets tough. I love the atmosphere...it is good-humoured and supportive whilst being challenging and I look forward to getting better at both Yoga and Pilates in your care.
